Simon started DJing at his local youth club the tender age of thirteen, when Le Freak by Chic and Car Wash by Rose Royce were new tracks. He also presented two weekly shows on his local hospital radio station. After graduating to local pubs and bars Simon found himself at Southampton University playing at student union functions, supporting such luminaries as The Glitter Band and Mud, Then he headed for the bright lights of London. It was while studying Drama and English at Middlesex Polytechnic that he got his first big break at the Paradise Club in Islington, sadly now bulldozed. Since witnessing the birth of house music in the UK first hand at clubs such as Heaven and Bang! Simon has always loved the more funky New York style of production. From the mid nineties Simon has tried to play so called “funky house” but most people turned their ears towards other types of dance music. (Oh yes! Now you’ve all caught up, well it’s about time to!) Now he plays a mixture of funky tunes and vocal electro. One rule still remains though, it’s got to have a tune! He’s played at all of London’s biggest gay clubs including Heaven, G-A-Y, Fusion and Love Muscle at The Fridge. He has also played the main stage at Manchester Pride for the last four years. Simon is now a huge international radio star and you can catch him weekdays from 11am on GaydarRadio (On Line, On Mobile and On DAB digital radio) where he presents your choice requests. You can also find him at S.L.A.G.S./Chill-out every Sunday at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. Simon is broad footed and can’t stick cabbage.
